Furnace Tune-Up

Do I Really Need a Furnace Tune-up?

Every day we go out to people’s houses and work on all brands and types of systems. We have had the ability to see thousands of units throughout the whole Metro-East IL region. So you can imagine that we have broad knowledge of common problems that come up and have seen it all. You also might want to read about the signs to look for when your furnace is going out.

A Furnace Tune-Up Includes

In-home visit from a certified professional HVAC technician to clean and inspect your furnace. We can even calibrate and adjust things to improve your home heating. Please refer to the details below of all that is included.

The furnace tune-up checklist:

Cleaning

The outside of the unit, blower, fan blades, flame sensor rod, and drain line all tend to get dirty and dusty over time. The coil in particular can be difficult to clean without messing up the blades. Let a pro take care of furnace cleaning, so it can operate at peak performance and efficiency. A new 1” air filter is Included with your cleaning (most filter sizes included).

Testing

The furnace can have potentially dangerous leaks and fumes. We want to make sure there is no risk for Carbon Monoxide to poison the air in your house. We also test the incoming gas pressure, manifold, burner operation, limit switch, safety controls, thermostat controls, and pilot or igniter. We monitor the furnace cycle and gas pressure as it runs.

Perform Inspections

Using a meter for advanced testing of the voltage and amp draw on all motors is included. We look for cracks, wear and tear, and other signs of future potential furnace problems on the heat exchanger, gas condensate tubing and traps, pressure switches, flue draft, blower wheel, all other venting and termination, and all electrical connections and will tighten any loose connections.

Lubrication

Motor parts need special lubricant every couple of years or so. If they dry out, the motor can get damaged.

And Other Adjustments

We will as needed adjust blower components, gas pressure, pilot light based on our inspection and testing findings of the unit. These adjustments can really benefit your home comfort and efficiency.
